scope:
This specification applies to all DC negative cables and bonding forming part of the electrical traction supply system. This specification also applies to running rail cable connections associated with cathodic protection.
Purpose
The purpose of this standard is to specify the planned periodic maintenance for negative traction cables and bonding on DC conductor rail traction power electrified lines. This standard controls the risks associated with asset failures and non-compliance with regulatory requirements.
The specified periodicity optimises the level of business impact, balancing the risks and costs associated with planned and unplanned interventions.
This document is to be used in conjunction with any other relevant, Network Rail maintenance standards, such as NR/L3/ELP/27250 - Conductor Rail Equipment Working Instructions.
