Management of Reports of Safety Related Geotechnical Incidents
|Publication Date:||2 September 2017|
This document covers the procedures for reporting geotechnical incidents.
Reportable incidents include the following earthwork failure types:
a) Slope failures
b) Failures of nailed or reinforced soil structures
c) Failures of rock slope support systems
d) Mining related failures.
Further details of earthworks failure types can be found in Appendix A.
Procedures for reporting M6 earthwork failures are documented separately under NR/ARM/M06DF.
This procedure manages the control, 'the receipt of ad-hoc reports from train operating companies, freight operating companies, Network Rail staff and earthworks reporting procedures', relating to the risks of:
a) loss of track support and/or track geometry
b) slope failure leading to loss of kinematic envelope and/or track geometry.
