scope:
The scope of this standard is to cover the requirements for:
a) reporting of Geotechnical Incidents in the Earthwork Database; and
b) post-failure investigation of Geotechnical Incidents.
Purpose
The purpose of this standard is to set out the requirements for reporting and investigating Geotechnical Incidents related to the business risks of slope failure leading to:
a) loss of Track Support; or
b) loss of Gauge Capability.
The business benefits of gathering intelligence on Geotechnical Incidents is to enable improved failure causal analysis and a systematic strengthening of business processes.

Reporting and Investigation of Geotechnical Incidents - This standard should only be used for reference to ensure 'The Control of Risk' until the compliance date of its replacement standard is reached, upon which this standard will be withdrawn. The development of all new processes and procedures should be to the replacement standard
