scope:
The standard underlines the necessary measuring technology infrastructure in order to integrate buildings more efficiently into electrical distribution networks and to enable energy management/energy controlling during operation. It provides notes on device selection, infrastructure, and evaluating measurement results. The standard applies to all buildings with the exception of those with industrial use and refers to low-voltage range designs. Measuring technology for the medium-voltage range is to be considered separately. Furthermore, this standard applies to buildings and properties with an electrical energy consumption of > 100000 kWh/a, where it is usually obligatory for energy customers to enter into a contract with a quarter-hourly measurement.
In accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001, this standard supports the steps "Introduction and implementation", "Monitoring, measurement, and analysis" as well as the non-conformities within the "Non-conformities, corrections, corrective, and preventive measures".
