scope:
Purpose:
This issuance, in accordance with the authority in DoD Directive 5124.02, establishes policy, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures for the electronic transmission reporting of Retired (RT) and Retired Annuitant (RTA) pay files, maintained by the Military Services, to the Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC).
APPLICABILITY.
a. This issuance applies to:
(1) OSD, the Military Departments (including the Coast Guard at all times, including when it is a Service in the Department of Homeland Security by agreement with that Department), the Office of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Joint Staff, the Combatant Commands, the Office of the Inspector General of the Department of Defense, the Defense Agencies, the DoD Field Activities, and all other organizational entities within the DoD (referred to collectively in this issuance as the "DoD Components").
(2) All retired uniformed Service members, including enlisted members, warrant officers, and commissioned officers, as well as their survivors who are entitled (receiving pay) or are eligible (not receiving pay) to receive retirement payments or annuities during each reporting period.
b. This issuance does not apply to reservists who have completed the service required for non-regular retirement but have not yet reached the statutory age to receive retirement payments
