This Network Rail Standard applies to authorisation of both temporary and permanent gauge clearances on Network Rail managed infrastructure.
Purpose
This standard specifies the process to be used to authorise the operation, with respect to gauge clearance of specific rail vehicles over specific routes. This process is required to prevent rail vehicles striking the structures, lineside furniture or other vehicles.
