Scope and Applicability.
This instruction applies to NAVPERSCOM and its subordinate commands and activities.
Purpose
a. To establish the mission, functions, and tasks of Navy Personnel Command (NAVPERSCOM), per references (a) and (b).
b. This revision includes a change to the NAVPERSCOM mission, the addition of organizational tasks in order to comply with reference (a), and an update to NAVPERSCOM status and command relationship to include Commander, Navy Personnel Command's (COMNAVPERSCOM) additional duty as Deputy Chief of Naval Personnel (DEP CHNAVPERS). This is a complete revision and should be reviewed in its entirety.
