This standard covers LU signage intended for operational use including track, depot, equipment, safety, and statutory signage.

Non-operational information signage for depots is not included within the scope of this standard. Certificates of compliance and legal notices are not included within the scope of this standard.

This Standard applies to providers, installers, and maintainers of signage

This standard expresses signage requirements in output terms only. Design details for required signage can be found in section 7 Signage.

Purpose

The purpose of this Standard is to set out LU's operational requirements for signage not intended for use by customers, and complements the standard 1-311 Station Signing for Customers.

Note: It is accepted that many such signs will however be viewed by customers as they pass through London Underground premises and will therefore use LU corporate colours and be consistent in their design.
