scope:
This standard applies to assets which are:
a) LU owned and for which it is directly responsible
b) LU owned but which are leased to others or managed and/or maintained by an Entity
c) Owned by an Entity but which are leased to LU
d) Owned by an Entity but which are located on, or adjacent to, LU's assets and can impact upon the safe and reliable operation of its business*
e) Owned by an Entity but with provision to revert to LU on completion of a contract or lease
This standard provides:
a) A goal setting framework
b) A set of prescriptive rules
c) References to supporting documents
This Standard defines the specific mandatory requirements for the construction and maintenance of a compliant register, as well as the minimum requirements for the definition and maintenance of all other supporting asset record information.
Purpose
The purpose of this standard is to specify the requirements for Information to be held about LU's Engineering Assets.
For greater clarity, the requirements section in this standard is presented in two parts:
I. The requirements for classifying and registering assets in an Engineering Asset Register
II. The requirements for asset records held as documents (e.g. drawings, specifications, test certificates) in information sources other than an Engineering Asset Register
