This specification defines the conditions for the manufacture of single core cable for use in DC traction indication circuits and rail connection circuits. The rated voltage for the cable shall be 3 Kilovolt (kV) conductors to earth. The normal operating voltage shall be 900 V, measured with respect to earth; and the normal operating current shall not exceed 10 A.
Purpose
The purpose of this technical specification is to ensure that this cable is used for a variety of applications including signalling track circuit rail connections and Direct current (DC) traction indications. The cable therefore, needs to be connected directly to both the running rails and the traction rails.
