Applies as a common standard to the individual standards of all kids of switchgear above 1000 V a.c. up to 60 Hz for indoor and outdoor installations including their auxiliary equipment. It deals with definitions, characteristics, and the rules of design and construction, dielectric properties, and type routine tests. Furthermore, it contains information concerning selection conditions, inquiries, and orders and rules for transport, storage, erection, and maintenance. Two appendices contain calculation rules. Excluded is switchgear, in the individual standards of which differences are particularly specified.
