This standard specifies the safety and performance requirements of a range of single-capped fluorescent lamps which are operated on a.c. supplies. The following types are included: - lamps with pre-heated cathodes operated with an integral means of starting; - lamps with pre-heated cathodes operated with an external means of starting; - lamps with pre-heated cathodes operated without the use of any starter. The specific lamp types and requirements are listed in separate sections. The safety and performance requirements of this standard relate only to type testing. Requirements for whole product testing or batch testing are under consideration.
