This standard is applicable to heat treated aluminium-magnesium-silicon alloy wires for the manufacture of stranded conductors for overhead power transmission purposes. It specifies the mechanical and electrical properties of wires in the diameter range of 1,50 mm to 5,00 mm diameter. The types are designated AL2 to AL 7. Additional properties may be agreed between the purchaser and the manufacturer.
