This standard specifies the test methods to be used for testing polymeric insulating and sheating materials of electric cables for power distribution and telecommunications including cables used on ships. This Section Two of Part 1 gives the thermal ageing methods which apply to the most common types of insulating and sheating compounds (elastomeric, PVC, PE, PP, etc.).
