This standard describes the determination of the water retention characteristic according to an overpressure method. Pressure cells and membrane filtration is used in this method. The standard is applicable for the examination of physical properties and the transport phenomena in the unsaturated zone of the soil in the pressure head section of h= -500 until h= -20000 cm.
