This standard covers valve assemblies for underground hot water networks with preinsulated pipe assemblies according to EN 253. This standard specifies requirements and test methods for prefabricated thermally insulated valve assemblies, comprising a steel valve, rigid polyurethane foam insulation and outer casing of polyethylene. This standard applies only to injected (poured) insulated valve assemblies for continuous operation with hot water at various temperatures according to EN 253 clause 1.
