This International Standard specifies a method for determining the tension set characteristics of vulcanized or thermoplastic rubbers. The test is intended to measure the ability of rubbers of hardness within the range 30 to 94 International Rubber Hardness Degree (IRHD) to retain their elastic properties after extension, at a standard temperature, to a specified strain which is maintained for a specified time at the same or at a specified higher temperature and then released at the standard temperature.
