This standard gives guidelines for the construction and testing of paper-insulated lead-covered power cables with copper or aluminium core(s). The guidelines for inspection relate not only to the cables given in the tables but also to paper-insulated lead-covered cables in general intended for networks with a rated DC voltage up to and including 1.2 kV and with a rated voltage up to and including 30 kV and a rated frequency between 50 and 60 Hz. The standard applies to armoured and non-armoured power cables, in which no internal or external pressure is applied, with copper or aluminium core(s).
