Specifies requirements for classification of wire electrodes and weld deposit in the as-welded or stress relieved condition for gas shielded metal arc welding of steels with a minimum yield strength higher than 500 N/mm2. One wire electrode may be tested and classified with different gases. The classification of a weld deposit is based on test of the all-weld metal in the as-welded or stress relieved condition.
