Sets forth the requirements to be met by the design, construction and testing of piping and the installation of gas appliances and the related safety aspects of gas installations in an industrial environment with a nominal operating pressure of up to 4 MPa (40 bar). The standard is intended for use as regulations for gas-fired installations which have been designed to use odorized or non-odorized fuel gases belonging to the second gas family according to NEN-EN 437 (natural gas), including biogas or fermentation gas, and the third gas family according to NEN-EN 437 (commercial propane, commercial butane and butane/propane mixtures). This standard makes allowance for the use of propane/air mixtures as a substitute fuel in emergency situations. The standard is also applicable to installations for space heating in industrial environments not falling within the scope of NEN 1078.
