When the term "time-temperature limit" is not qualified, it refers to tests made in air, avoiding any other influence such as applied stress. Similar time-temperature limits may be determined in other environments or under applied stress, or both, the time-temperature limit being qualified accordingly. Evaluation of these limits provides information on the possibilities of using a material under similar conditions for a specific purpose.
