scope:

Purpose.

To establish program sponsor and advisor roles for the Naval Information Force Reserve (NAVIFORES). This instruction is a complete revision and should be read in its entirety. Changes to this revision include:

a. Revising Commander Information Dominance Corps Reserve Command to Commander Naval Information Force Reserve (COMNAVIFORES), per OPNAVNOTE 5400 Ser DNS-33/16U102226.

b. Per reference (a), designating and tasking COMNAVIFORES to serve as the Navy Reserve Force Special Security Officer and to implement, monitor, and inspect security management programs of all Navy Reserve Component personnel indoctrinated into sensitive compartmented information.

c. Authorizing COMNAVIFORES signature authority for memorandum of agreement between the Defense Intelligence Agency and the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Information Warfare (CNO N2N6) for the Joint Reserve Intelligence Program.

Scope and Applicability.

The provisions of this instruction are applicable to CNO N2N6 as the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Information Warfare, and to COMNAVIRORES as the TYCOM for Navy Reserve cryptologic warfare, intelligence, information professional, and meteorology, oceanography, and space communities.
