This specification covers the requirements of a fast drying, corrosion inhibiting, low VOC content alkyd primer for metal surfaces. This primer is lead and chromate free and contains no more than 420 grams per liter (3.5 pounds per gallon) of VOCs as applied. This primer is not to be used on tactical or combat equipment, or equipment that will be exposed to any nuclear, biological, or chemical (NBC) agents and decontamination procedures. Equipment primed with this material is not to be coated with CARC primers or topcoats.
