This Part of EN 1401 gives guidance for the assessment of conformity to be included in the manufacturer's quality plan as part of the quality system. This prestandard includes: a) requirements for materials, components and assemblies given in EN 1401-1; b) requirements for the manufacturer's quality system; c) definitions and procedures to be applied if a third party certification is involved. This Part of EN 1401 is applicable to piping systems made of unplasticized poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC-U) in the field of non-pressure underground drainage and sewerage for both buried in ground within the building structure (application area code "D") and outside the building structure. This is reflected in the marking of products by "U" and "UD".
