Organization: ATIS
Publication Date: 1 May 1993
Status: active
Page Count: 61
scope:

This TI Technical Report documents the theoretical and analytical and analytical work examining the effects that Synchronous NET work (SONET) phase characteristics have on the existing telecommunication network. This Report analyzes the pointer and asynchronous payload mapping schemes described in ANSI T1.105-1988. [1] Pointers accommodate synchronous network characteristics. These analyses were developed by the T1X1.3 Tributary Analysis Working Group of ANSI Accredited Standards Committee T1 (Telecommunications). Existing network output jitter requirements are insufficient to constrain SONET Payload output jitter. Considerations for a SONET payload output jitter specification based on this report are located Appendix A for information.
