scope:
Purpose.
To implement reference (a) and (b).
To ensure all military, civilian, and contractor employees of the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) are fully aware if their responsibilities under the provisions of the Privacy Act (PA) of 1974 (5 U.S.C. 552a).
To balance the need to maintain information with the obligation under the Privacy Act to protect individuals against unwarranted invasions of their privacy resulting from the collection, maintenance, use and disclosure for Personally Identifiable Information (PII). PII refers to information that can be used to distinguish or trace an individual's identity (e.g., name, Social Security Number (SSN), date and place of birth, age, military rank, civilian grade, marital status, race, salary, home/office phone numbers, mother's maiden name, biometric, medical and financial information, and other demographic data, including any other personal information that is linked or linkable to a specified individual).
