General

All work related to an engineer's current area must be planned. Locations of engineer's current areas must be published in the Engineering Works and Safety Arrangements (EWSA) or Engineering Notice. For further information please refer to Rule Book 18, Section 2.

When an engineer's train is required to work with traction current on in engineering hours, it must do so only within an engineer's current area. Engineer's current areas must not be used in depots or other locations

where any adjacent traction current section is switched on.
