Preface
This is the third edition of the CSA Z240 MH Series of Standards, Manufactured homes. It supersedes the previous editions, published in 1992 and 1986 under the title Mobile Homes.
Significant changes since the previous edition include the following:
(a) In CSA Z240.0.1, General requirements for manufactured homes (previously published under the title Definitions and General Requirements for Mobile Homes):
(i) limitation of applicability to single-storey dwellings;
(ii) addition of a requirement that plumbing services are to be installed in accordance with the National Plumbing Code of Canada, 2005 (this Series of Standards no longer includes a Standard on plumbing requirements); and
(iii) removal of the exterior markings requirement.
(b) In CSA Z240.1.1, Vehicular requirements for manufactured homes: inclusion of pindle coupling.
(c) In CSA Z240.2.1, Structural requirements for manufactured homes: alignment of structural requirements to comply with the National Building Code of Canada, 2005.
(d) CSA Z240.3.1, Plumbing requirements has been replaced with a direct reference to NPC 2005.
(e) In CSA Z240.4.1, Installation requirements for gas-burning appliances in manufactured homes: removal of Clause 4.2 on gas-fired furnaces (covered by the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I).
These Standards are considered suitable for use for conformity assessment within the stated scopes of the Standards.
These Standards were prepared by the Technical Committee on Factory Certification of Buildings, under the jurisdiction of the Strategic Steering Committee on Building Products and Systems, and have been formally approved by the Technical Committee.
