Part 5 of this standard practice provides further details to refine or bound (constrict) the performance of each legacy measurement addressed.
Applicability. Part 5 of this Standard Practice was
developed to retain applicable legacy test requirements, test
methods, and support processes to be used for performing testing of
fiber optic components. The rapidly changing state of the art in
fiber optic technology makes it essential that some degree of
flexibility be exercised in enforcing this document. When there is
a conflict between this document and the platform specification or
contract, the platform specification or contract shall take
precedence. Where obsolescence or other issues are such that the
measurement requirements specified for the refinement or bound
(constraint) herein cannot be implemented, users shall submit a
description of the issue along with a request for clarification or
with proposal for redefining the requirement to consider for
incorporation into this standard practice to: Defense Supply Center
