This Standard specifies a method to provide a measure of the compressive load attained to cause breakage of pellets for blast furnace (hereafeter referred to as "pellets").

This Standard is applicable to hot-bonded pellets.

NOTE 1 The corresponding International Standard, ISO 4700, is applicable to pellets for blast furnace and direct reduction feedstocks.

NOTE 2 The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows :

ISO 4700 : 2007 Iron are pellets for blast furnace and direct reduction feedstocks -Determination of the crushing strength (MOD)

The symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/lEC Guide 21-1.
