This test method shall be used to determine the abrasion resistance of automotive components which cause of shape, size, configuration etc. cannot be tested by conventional means.

The test method is particularly applicable to plastic parts to which decorative/functional finishes (printing, metallising, painting, foiling etc.) have been applied, where an indication of the wear characteristics of such finishes is required.

Determination of wear to this test method is suitable for comparison tests and for ensuring uniformity of product. Results give no indication of the possible wear performance in practice.

Note: Nothing in this standard supersedes applicable laws and regulations.

Note: In the event of a conflict between the German and the English language, the German language shall take precedence.
