This module specifies the rationale that should be applied when employing the JST in the risk assessment for the prevention and mitigation of overruns. This module applies to all users of JST when undertaking signal overrun risk assessments as required by NR/L2/SIG/14201/Mod01. It applies only to the assessment of new or modified signals or layouts as part of infrastructure change.

Purpose

This module forms part of the Signalling Risk Assessment Handbook (NR/L2/SIG/14201) and is to be read in conjunction with the other modules of the handbook and reference documentation relevant to the prevention and mitigation of overruns. This module details the minimum requirements when using the Junction Screening Tool (JST), which gives projects an indication of layout risk at an early optioneering stage to inform decision making.
