This chapter covers many miscellaneous items of equipment which do not fall into the categories of other chapters of the guide. Areas or new processes which may not have been discussed in the other chapters will be noted, such as inter-unit and tank farm piping especially those carrying light hydrocarbons. Processing units which warrant noting are sour water strippers and sulfur recovery units. However, inasmuch as some items of equipment discussed in this chapter are comprised of components covered in other chapters and in other API publications, appropriate references to those chapters and publications will be made. Reference to the equipment manufacturer's operating, maintenance, and inspection manuals will yield information peculiar to that manufacturer's equipment, information which is not practical to cover in this chapter. Because of safety considerations, procedures developed by the suppliers should be used to inspect tetraethyl lead storage tanks and associated equipment.
