This recommended practice is intended to serve as a guide to crane owners and operators in developing those safe operating practices and procedures compatible with operation of pedestal-mounted revolving cranes used offshore on bottom-supported platforms floating drilling tenders. semi-submersible rigs, and other types of floating drilling equipment. Each owner and operator is encouraged to observe the recommendations outlined and to supplement them with any other safe practice which may be advisable for particular situations.
