This specification applies in full to all new and existing a.c. and d.c. Electrified lines and to existing electrified lines.
The specification does not include requirements for:
1. Signs at public road crossings on a.c. & d.c. Electrified lines. These are given in the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 1994 and are the responsibility of the Highway Authority once advice has been given by Network Rail;
2. Signs on rail vehicles, road vehicles or mobile plant.
Purpose
The purpose of this document is to provide a specification for the design and display of signs on Network Rail infrastructure to warn and provide safety information to persons on or near a.c. and/or d.c. electrified lines.
