scope:

Purpose. To establish Department of the Navy (DON) policy preventing the introduction of counterfeit materiel into DON systems. This instruction implements the requirements of references (a) through (l) listed in enclosure (1).

Applicability

a. This instruction applies to the Office of the Secretary of the Navy, the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO), the Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC), and all U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps installations, commands, activities, field offices, and all other organizational entities within the DON.

b. This instruction applies to all phases of life cycle management, from identifying an operational requirement, introducing an item into the supply chain, system operations and maintenance, through phase out and retirement.
