This Defence Standard (Def Stan.) specifies requirements for ceramic rope and ceramic blanket for use in thermal insulation applications at temperatures up to 1000°C for use in HM Surface Ships and Submarines.
Requirements that are common to all types of ceramic rope and blanket products are described in the main part of the standard.
Requirements for physical and thermal properties of specific types of the ceramic rope and blanket products traditionally use for the following applications, according to Def Stan 02-703, are described in the following annexes:
Annex A: Specification for Ceramic Rope.
Annex B: Specification for ceramic Blanket.
