scope:
This procedure applies to all Network Rail Managed Stations except:
a) St Pancras (Midland Road) Station, where this is covered by the St Pancras International Station arrangements;
b) Stations where the Train Operators lead with the development of the plans as the Service Provider to Network Rail Infrastructure Limited. Any alternative arrangements will be documented via Safety Validation or approved Statement of Arrangements.
The procedure applies to:
a) arrangements for routine, foreseeable occurrences and other planned events;
b) unplanned occurrences such as emergencies including:
i) fire;
ii) crowding;
iii) security;
iv) customer welfare arrangements;
v) customer management actions arising from service disruption
PURPOSE
This procedure sets out how to respond to unplanned station incidents and planned events in managed stations. It:
a) predicts and prevents through event / contingency planning;
b) maintains safety and security of stations;
c) minimises the consequences of such an event; and
d) enables controlled response and recovery to normal working.
