Purpose.
The AF Strategic Basing Process provides an enterprise-wide transparent, defendable, and repeatable process for decision making to ensure all strategic basing actions involving AF units and missions support AF mission requirements and comply with all applicable environmental guidance. This AFI describes the process for how mission requirements and locations are vetted and approved consistent with definitions in paragraph 1.6.
