Purpose.

The purpose of this Instruction is to ensure United States Air Force aircraft continue to safely operate in worldwide airspace. The procedures in this Instruction are designed to coordinate AF efforts to ensure acquisitions, integrations, and modifications fully address CNS/ATM capability standards. This Instruction defines the roles, responsibilities, processes and procedures associated with assurance of CNS/ATM, navigation safety, and NextGen performance; to include those of the CNS/ATM Center of Excellence (COE) located at ESC/HBA, Aerospace Management Systems Division, Hanscom AFB, MA. Throughout this AFI the term ―COE‖ refers to the CNS/ATM COE.
