Purpose.
This instruction addresses the concerns associated with exposure to ionizing radiation, regardless of source, and seeks to keep exposures as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA). Specific USAF requirements for USAF Radioisotope Committee regulated and 91(b) radioactive materials are found in AFIs 40-201 and 91-108, respectively.
