Purpose
This module establishes the requirements for a structure hierarchy. The purpose of the structure hierarchy is to provide a structured consistent method of recording data against each structure and to record and list all the CMI elements of each Structure.
This module mitigates the risk of inconsistent reporting and understanding of the condition of Network Rail's structures asset stock. Failure to implement this correctly could lead to a loss of reputation with the ORR (Office of Road and Rail) and failure to secure the correct funding for the maintenance of structures thus leading to functional failures of structures.
