This standard shall be used by those engaged in overhaul specification, procurement, execution and use of overhauled signalling equipment.

It shall be used when undertaking changes to overhauled signalling equipment, specification, procurement, execution and use.

Note: Legacy Signalling Systems do not have complete documentation in all cases and as such are expected to comply with the spirit of this standard. Please refer to Attachment 1 for the list of equipment that is fully compliant to this standard.

Purpose

The purpose of this standard is to define the principles by which the overhaul of signalling equipment shall be specified and managed. It shall apply to all equipment taken into use, both as maintenance replacements for existing assets and for 'new works'.
