This standard specifies the characteristics of nuts, hexagon with MJ thread, captive washer and counterbore, self-locking, corrosion-resisting steel used together with screws and bolts of ≤ 1 100 MPa nominal tensile strength for temperatures up to 315 °C with surface treatment according to code letter D and those for temperatures up to 425 °C, only subjected to shear loads and not subjected to tensile loads, with surface treatment according code letter U for aerospace applications.
