This Recommendation | International Standard describes Mobile Multicast Communications part 3(MMC-3) protocol. MMC-3 is an application-level protocol that supports one-to-many multicast data delivery. MMC-3 defines relayed multicast data transport capability over the IP-based wireless networks as well as the wired fixed networks.
This Recommendation | International Standard specifies the followings:
a) Describe the entities, control, and data delivery models of MMC-3 protocol;
b) Describe the protocol operation of MMC-3 to support one-to-many multicast data delivery; and
c) Defines messages and parameters of MMC-3.
