PURPOSE
This Directive:

Establishes policy, assigns responsibilities, and prescribes procedures for DoD oversight of the Service academies.
APPLICABILITY
This Directive applies to OSD, the Military Departments, the Inspector General of the Department of Defense (IG, DoD), the Defense Agencies, and the DoD Field Activities (hereinafter referred to collectively as "the DoD Components").
