This specification applies to all track ballast for use in running lines owned by Railtrack except for ballast directly returned to the track by a ballast cleaning machine or aggregates used in conjunction with a stoneblowing machine.
PURPOSE
This specification gives the requirements for the procurement of track ballast, including compliance tests, and recommendations for its quality assurance testing.
