scope:

This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the requirements for the crystalline silicon photovoltaic modules and arrays installed on a flat roof or a sloped roof, which are used in the photovoltaic power generating system with the output of less than 50 kW. This Standard defines the necessary items to ensure the constructional and electric interrelationship of photovoltaic modules and arrays.

This Standard shall not apply to the following modules and arrays.

a) Modules and arrays having the function as building material such as a roofing material

b) Concentrator-type or tracking-type photovoltaic modules and arrays

c) Solar light and solar heat hybrid-type photovoltaic modules and arrays

d) AC modules
