Purpose

This regulation prescribes policy and assigns responsibilities for the management, acquisition, and use of all Army nontactical vehicles (NTVs) (Army-owned, General Services Administration (GSA) leased, long-term commercially leased vehicles), regardless of the source of funding. It incorporates information for managing commercial design NTVs and nontactical firefighting apparatus (FFA). On joint bases (JBs), all tenant organizations and activities will receive their administrative NTV support (GSA and/or commercially leased vehicles) from the Service designated as the supporting Service for the JB. All tenant organizations and activities will follow the NTV regulatory guidance of the supporting Service (for example, JB Lewis McChord follows Army policy and JB San Antonio follows Air Force policy).
