scope:

This code of practice applies to

a) all Railtrack staff, and contractors employed by Railtrack, with responsibility for the maintenance of metallic bridges and structures.

b) all Railtrack owned metallic bridges and structures where reapplication of protective treatment is necessary for preservation or aesthetic reasons, and should be used to form the basis for determining local policy and to assist in the preparation of tender documents.

PURPOSE

This code of practice gives guidance on the strategy to be adopted in the reapplication of protective treatment to metallic bridges and structures.
